Apprenticeship Scheme

Our apprentices generally join us for two years, largely full-time, to develop their knowledge of Scripture, godliness of character and skills in ministry prior to theological education. Most are given a modest scholarship and otherwise secure financial support from wives, friends and part-time jobs.

They are part of the national "9:38" initiative to encourage ministry training (and not just cheap labour). They are involved in all areas of church life from preaching to stacking chairs, from organising weekends to speaking at school assemblies. Their training is both on the job with the staff and at the Apprenticeship Workshops on Wednesdays (with expository work, ministry review, prayer and doctrine). They are accountable to Richard and a great joy to us all.
